Black Dahlia Lacquer is a vegan, 5 free, Mother and Daughter company out of Texas, The bottles are beautiful and unique, almost vintage looking, and will be available in both14 ml and 8ml size. They have a nice flat brush too.
I was sent 3 collections, and a limited edition Halloween duo, to swatch and review. In this post I will focus on The Essentials Collection, consisting of 6 polishes that everyone needs in their polish stash. These are neutral colors in finishes of both cream and shimmer/flakies.
Oriental Lilies: A white cream polish, not a stark white, but a softern, flattering, very wearable white. Applies beautifully and is opaque in 3 coats. No top coat was used here.
Lily of the Valley: Light grey shimmer with taupe and white flakies and gold glass fleck. 3 smooth coats with 1 coat of Seche top coat.
Black Iris: Off Black cream, 2 easy coats with no top coat.
Daffodil Petals: Pale tan cream, this will be very flattering on most skin tones, 3 coats, no top coat.
Beach Jasmine: Light nude shimmer with gold glass fleck, opaque in 2 coats, I used 1 coat of Seche top coat.
Dove Gray Corsage: Dark gray cream, opaque in 2 to 3 coats, no top coat.
I had absolutely no issues with any of the polishes, all apply very well, and with great coverage. My personal faves from this collection are Beach Jasmine, Daffodil Petals, and Oriental Lilies. Thanks for visiting and mark your calenders for the pre-sale September 30th, 2014!
